GIRL'S CAMP!

I'm so excited that I got called to be Girl's Camp Leader again this year. Well, more that they never released me from last year. :) I told them as long as I'm not pregnant, I will be there. I'll probably still go if I'm not showing ;) The young women are such awesome people and I can't wait to get to know them even more! I'm glad I have a whole 6 months before camp so I'll actually feel prepared this year!

I also had my first Home, Family, Personal Enrichment night that I was leader for. It took a lot of planning and I'm going to have to do even more for this next one because now I "know what I'm doing." Sort of... I'm really putting a lot more into my callings now though. I know that there is something for me to learn and that's why I've been giving this calling. So I'm going to try my hardest to learn whatever that is, and hopefully, Heavenly Father will let me keep the calling a little while once I have learned that so I can have a little break before I have to learn something new!

I read a really great article today that is the theme for mutual for 2009. It's a talk by President Monson from 2005. It's on the LDS.org website. Check it out! :) It made me cry, but that's pretty easy to do. :)

Just Wanted to Fill You In

Robby was offered a new job and decided to take it. He gave his 2 week notice and then his current job said, Ok, your last day is Friday, in 3 days. Yikes! We've been saving up for several months so we're totally fine but it came as a bit of a shock. Well, more for me because there were a few lay offs the day before that made it the final straw for Robby. Robby will have 3 full weeks at home to work on projects that he already has lined up and was worried about having enough time for them so we're pretty excited about that. I'm going to be working some extra overtime at my job to bring in some extra money just for padding and because Robby won't have to go in early to a job and stay longer and not get paid more for extra hours. I'm SOOOOO thankful we both have jobs and do not have some of the expenses that we would have if we had kids. It will push going to the doctor back a month but it's not the end of the world. I can't even imagine how someone that just got laid off and not have a job and how that would feel. Even this, I was terrified out of my mind and we have plenty of money to cover the bills and a job that will start soon. I'm so grateful for everything we have and for the blessings we haven't gotten yet but that I know are waiting for us. :)

Question for you all...

I was wondering if anyone knows a good Infertility Specialist in Arizona. I've been to ARMS and liked it but I didn't love it so I don't think I'm going to go back. I have a recommendation from Fertility Treatment Center but I was hoping to get a few more recommendations. If you know someone who had a good experience with a Reproductive Endocrinologist, let me know! Or if someone has gone to a regular obgyn to get treatments done, then the doctors name. It's not something most people talk about so any help would be greatly appreciated! :) I'm also looking for an obgyn for when I get pregnant. :) Thanks everyone!

Time Flies

Has it really been 2 weeks since my last post? Wow almost 3 weeks! Time is flying by! Christmas is around the corner. It's going to be our first Christmas by ourselves. I'm really excited. I love spending time with family but we haven't had a Christmas in our home yet. I'm looking to buy a new Christmas tree (artificial) because the hand me down one we have in starting to look a little sad. Ok so it was sad when we got it and now most of the lights don't work. :) Robby and I are both working a lot. We've been lucky enough to be able to buy some fun toys to play with. We both got iPhones which is probably one of the best inventions ever. It keeps me sane at work! :) On really boring days I can watch movies and the time passes much quicker. Robby got a PS3 and it's been fun to watch movies in bluray. There is a difference. It's not huge but it's still fun to watch. We also just bought a camera. It's a digital slr camera and I'm super excited. It's my Christmas present. Every year we've been married we've gotten ourselves a big present for Christmas but usually they are geared towards Robby. :) (XBOX 360, giant tv-though I enjoy that too) This year it was my turn and I wanted a camera. The digital camera we have now is 4 years old this Christmas and a little sad. Our new one... is the Canon XSi. It's incredible! :) It should be arriving this week some time and I can't wait to go take some pictures of my two favorite munchkins, David and Erik. The presents set us back on our debt pay off timeline but I will definitely be using this camera for a while and wanted one when we had our kids anyways. Hopefully it will help us document our lives a little better too! :) Insurance kicks in starting January 1st so I'm waiting for the ok from Robby to make my appointment to start treatments. We're still debating which treatment to start first. He's routing for the cheapest and I'm routing for the more effective. I guess we'll just have to see what the doctor thinks...

Nephews

It's been a while since I've posted some cute pictures of my nephews. Here are just a few.

This is Noah and Ethan drinking some juice. Noah is in kindergarten and Ethan is such a riot!
Here is Ethan turning 3. Noah decided to blow the candle out for him.
This is all of us walking through Disneyland. From left to right, Connor, Laurie (Robby's mom), Mike (Brother in law) pushing the stroller with baby Jake, Craig (Robby's dad), then Robby and me holding hands. :)
Here is Robby holding Connor with Woody. He was a little nervous with all the cartoon characters walking around outside of the TV.
Here is Connor feeding Jake. What he's feeding him, I don't know. Most likely just dirty fingers.
Here is Aaron. He's getting so big! And what a head full of hair! He's such a cutie and I can't wait to see him for the first time in a few months! I wish it could be sooner!
Here are my twinners! David is on the left and Erik on the right. I was playing with both of them and they were smiling but then as soon as I take out the camera, their faces go blank. Well David sort of scowls at me. :) Erik is starting to "Goo" at people. He will tell you about goo all day long. They both are smiling really big when you tell them they are "cutie babies." We love to sing to them and they love it too!

Ok so that was a few more than a few but when you have the cutest nephews in the whole world, who wouldn't show them off? :)

It's been a while

I haven't posted in over a month so I figured I should probably fill in my life over the past little while. I had my birthday and we went to Disneyland. We got 2nd place in the Challenge and had a ton of fun with our friends Jared and Joanna. I'm sad that we let our annual passes expire but we don't have any vacation time lately. Which brings me to my new job. I got a job at University of Phoenix in the University Services. It's a lot of fun. I don't have to use my brain very often. :) When people need transcripts, I order them for them. The people I work with are really fun and it pays the bills. Plus it's a lot closer to Robby's job than before so we are saving on gas. Which was $2.39 yesterday and it made me so happy! Ok so that was off my train of thought. :) Robby also got a new job where he is "Senior Technologist." He decides everything technological at the company he works at. It's called Santy and is an advertising company. He's only been there a week but already I can tell he's going to love it. At least for a year or so! :) Most people would go crazy if their husband changed jobs this much but he's doubled his salary in the past 2 years and is doing something he loves which makes me happy. :) He's also doing a lot of side projects that have been bringing in some extra funds. :) We're hoping that the extra money will be able to pay for Doctor visits in the coming months to help me get pregnant. It's been 3 years since going off birth control and 2 and a half years of waiting and hoping. I'm praying that it doesn't take much more time but I'm honestly enjoying the time I have with my husband, alone. I never thought I would get to that point but it's nice to be able to pay off all our debts, to be able to go on vacation whenever, to sleep from 7 o'clock at night to 4:30 in the afternoon the next day (I was sick), to be able to just cuddle on the couch and watch a movie together. I'm not saying I wouldn't trade all of it in a heartbeat for a baby, but I'm living with the hand I've been dealt. This Friday marks the 4 year anniversary of the day I met Robby and I can honestly say, we are a billion times closer than I ever could have imagined. He is my best friend, my lover, my soul mate. I'm so glad I get to spend eternity with him. :) And that's our life in a nut shell. Hopefully I will do better at keeping up with this but after 3 negative tests, the flu, and settling into a new job, I haven't felt much like blogging. I'm so grateful to all the friends and family I have that keep me going, keep me faithful, and keep me happy. I love you all!

Pepe

So I had to go to the grocery store at about 9 o'clock tonight and I'm driving down this little curve on the way out of our neighborhood and I see something in the street. I slow down but cannot stop before I almost hit it. I realize this black little furry thing was actually a SKUNK! Holy cow. It was a really cute furry thing but it sprayed our car and it smells SO yucky! Luckily I had an air freshener, that was unopened, in the car. My car now smells like a mix of skunk and mulled cider. YUM!

Addiction

I am totally addicted to Heroes. It starts tonight and we are watching news before the premiere starts just to make sure we don't miss anything!

Robby is busy playing with his new MacBook. He has been begging for MONTHS to get the MacBook Pro but it's a little out of our price range. He has a few side projects that will pay for this and for his MacBook Pro so I get the regular MacBook. :) It's a Win-Win!

I'm still working on school and it's doing a great job at keeping me busy, which I love! I'm taking a Photoshop class and a Nutrition class. Nothing earth shattering. They are both really fun and easy classes but I'm learning a lot! Hopefully what I'm learning will allow me to help Robby with web design.

We are leaving for Disneyland Thursday night and will enjoy a few days there with our Great Friends Joanna and Jared. We are going to be doing the Disneyland Challenge for the 3rd time. The challenge is pretty much a scavenger hunt through Disneyland. Robby's dad has been putting this on for the past 4 years. We learn so much about Disneyland and it's a blast! Hopefully I can post the questions after it's over so you can understand it a little better!

Well now that I've updated my whole life... you can get back to yours! I love you all! Hopefully good news will be coming soon! ;)

Two Peas in a Pod

Here are my two little peas in a pod. :) We were taking pictures for their announcements. Now I'm trying to figure out how to DO their announcements!

David on the right and Erik on the left.

Violin and Tuba Duet

My friend Kristin and I are going to learn this so we can finally duet!

EEK!

I was getting ready this morning and woke up to this beauty in my bathroom. I made Robby kill him, mostly because Robby said it had to go and I just couldn't do it. :( Spiders are really fascinating to me. Hopefully he'll go to heaven! :)

Thank Heaven for Twins!

Erik and David sleeping after a long day at the doctor. Poor little guys were so worn out! They have both gained 11 oz in 9 days and grew 3/4 inch! They are SO big! Ok so relatively speaking they have gotten bigger! David is almost to 6 pounds and Erik is almost 6 and a half pounds! I just love these boys SO much!

It isn't easy being green. :)

I was feeling a little green today. Whether it is because I'm a little "under the weather" or "green with envy" I just felt a little green. I decided to make my blog reflect how I feel. Maybe I'm just feeling a strong connection to Kermit. :)

New Edition

Meet Aaron Joseph. He's my brother John and Sister in Law Holly's new baby boy. He arrived yesterday. Check out all that hair!

Here he is with Holly, the proud mama!

We're so blessed to have 7 nephews now! 5 on my side and 2 on Robby's. It's time to add some girls to the mix! :) Aaron is in the NICU right now for fluid in his lungs so we are praying that he can get better quickly and be home with his mom, dad, and 2 brothers! We love you baby Aaron! Get better soon! Big Hugs and Kisses!

The Greatest Force

My friend and neighbor Jessica put this on her blog and it really touched me so I thought I would post it too. :) It was quoted by President Hinckley. :)
"When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn't stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother's heart, and she puts it into the baby's mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies." E.T. Sullivan
I can't wait until I have a little force that comes into the world and will change it for the better!

First Trip to the Doctor

Today was the boys first trip to the doctor. They are both back up to their birth weight which the doctor thought was pretty impressive. After we were done, the boys were both very worn out and slept for several hours once they got home.

David on the left, Erik on the right waiting to go home. Too bad we had to go get their blood drawn right after this. They did not like that!
David & Erik waiting to get checked out by the doctor. David was SOOOO tired. Erik was kicking around earlier and was totally awake!

David was just chilling. He's so mellow. He cuddled with me for almost the whole visit. He did not like being on the table without clothes on!

Erik was just staring at me. He is so alert all the time. He likes to sleep but if something is going on, he wants to be in the middle of it.
David fell asleep and Erik wanted to play. David just looks so peaceful. Erik just loves to suck on that binky!

Both boys had their diapers changed shortly after this and peed all over their cute blankies. I love their different personalities and temperments. Sorry I still don't have pictures of their cute new outfits, hopefully tomorrow. I just can't get enough of these boys! And I don't have to stay up all night feeding them! This is a win-win! :) Almost.

Fun Fact

The twins have two different blood types! One is O+ and one is B+. Isn't that cool? At least we know they aren't identical. If you couldn't tell from looking at them. :)

Twinsies

Here are some more pictures of my twin nephews. Sorry they are taking over my blog but they are just too darn cute!

Erik is on the left and David is on the right. They are both little burritos!
Here's my happy hubby holding two of our favorite nephews! David is on the left and Erik on the right!
Here I am with them. This time Erik is on the left and David to the right.
This is Erik looking around. He really wants to go back to sleep but we don't let him. :) At least for a few minutes!
This is David. Their outfits were swimming on them so we had to buy some premie sized stuff. I'll have pictures of that tomorrow. They are just too cute!

I'm really hoping when Robby and I have babies that someone will come over and take pictures and document our lives because I know my sister can't do it with her twins. I don't know how anyone could find the time! She certainly has her hands full with two bundles of joy!

PICTURES!

I figured out how to email the pictures to myself! Here are the boys! Aren't they so cute???!!!

This is David. He loves to sleep. He hates the light and you have to shield it from him so he doesn't furrow his brow. He's just so little!

This is baby Erik. I could only take a couple pictures of him and they all look the same because we couldn't take him out of his incubator. It was so cute though. Steve took me in to see him and he was crying really loud. We walked over to his bed and Steve started talking to him and instantly Erik stopped crying and fell right back to sleep. He knows his Daddy's voice! :)

After being fed, David started to wake up and was looking around a little. He's really alert and will just stare at you! When we were holding him, he kept hearing Kristi and tried to look for her to find her. He knows who Mommy is! :) We have a Momma's boy on our hands!

This is just a picture of David with his binky and you can see how small he really is. That is a normal sized binky they give you at the hospital. It is about half the size of his face. :) He's the sweetest thing ever though! Well, I guess one of the 2 sweetest things ever! :) I love them so much and have only seen them for a few minutes! I can't wait to see them grow and learn and learn to say my name! :)

BABY UPDATE!

My sister Kristi had her twin boys yesterday. :) Both babies are doing good. The first baby took a long time to come out. He played peek a boo with the doctor. He kept getting low in the canal when she would push and then sneak back up when she stopped. Finally the doctor got the suction thing and got his head and sucked him out. He got out and was handed to my brother in law, Steve. The doctor then got ready for the second one and shoved his hand up there to get the second baby turned around so that he could come out (ouch!). He was all ready to go and then the doctor got a really serious face (which is weird for him because he's the happiest man I've ever met) so they shoved my brother in law out the door while the doctor was demanding for a scapel that second. They cut her open and pulled the second baby out. He had the umbilical cord wrapped around his body and he wasn't able to breathe. They hooked him up to breathing tubes and took him to the NICU. They had settled on two names for the boys before they got to the hospital (but probably on the way there) but as Steve was in the hall with the brand new baby, it just didn't stick. So as he sat in the hall, he decided that baby A is David, he was 5 pounds 2 ounces and 18 inches long. After baby B came out, Steve came back into the room and said to Kristi, this is David (which was a name he hated while they were trying to pick out names but she loved it) and Kristi says baby B is now Erik (she named him after the doctor because he saved his life). Baby B (Erik) was 5 pounds 7 ounces and 19 inches long. Erik was in the incubator when I saw him this afternoon, but he is off his breathing tubes and can sustain his body temperature. He will probably be out of the incubator tomorrow (Friday) so he can spend some time with David, Kristi, and Steve. David is eating like a pro and will snuggle into you. The nurses guess that my sister will be able to go home Saturday or Sunday. They are the cutest babies I've ever seen! I took pictures on my phone but I failed to remember my digital camera! Boo on me! We will be seeing them this coming Monday and I promise I will remember then! :) Kristi is doing great after delivering a baby each way. She was up walking (well more shuffling) around. She is pretty drugged up but it makes for some fun conversations! (hee hee). I'm so happy to be an Aunt again and now we just have one more addition to the family to wait for. My brother John and his wife Holly's baby should be arriving shortly!

Baby Alert!

Kristi's twins arrived today. One vaginally and one by c-section. I don't know many details but they are healthy and pretty big! Both are over 5 pounds. I will see them tomorrow and make sure to post some pictures!

USA USA USA!

With the olympics in full swing, I felt a little patriotic! :) I haven't been watching a lot of it but I love gymnastics so that's mostly what I've been watching. I was so sad that there were so many falls at the preliminaries but they will do awesome at the real thing! :) Go Shawn Johnson! :) She rocks! Tune in tomorrow night (Tuesday) to see the US Women's team win the Gold!

Twilight

I'm so excited for the new book and the movie that I changed my blog. :) If anyone hasn't read these books, then you are missing out! They are SO awesome! I love them! Robby is totally my Edward and will be forever!

Just a little piece of me...

I was reading my patriarchal blessing today and I was comforted with the best words I think I have ever read. It talks about how my husband and I will bring children into this world. I kept over looking the fact that I will have children. I've been so worried and distracted that I can't believe I missed that before. I know it will happen now. I had hoped in the past but I know that it will happen. It may not be as soon as I want it to, but it will. It may not happen spontaneously or when I "stop thinking about it" but it will happen. :) I'm so grateful for my Heavenly Father and the answers to my prayers. I know He hears me. I know He loves me. I know I will have children (more than one) :) and that I will do my very best to raise them to know those things too. Life may not be perfect but I'll learn to live with it. :)

A New Day

This past week lasted forever! It's finally over and I'm so glad! :) The stuff with our car did work out. It is the computer to the engine that is broken but it's still under warranty for another 200 miles. That's about a day and a half of driving so I'm glad I went in when I did. I have an appointment to see the doctor to hopefully start fertility treatments. I've had 3 different people say how much they love this doctor so I'm really hoping it doesn't get too insanely expensive. He's an obgyn so when I do get pregnant, I will already know him so that's good. It's time to start a new week and hopefully I can get through this one without breaking down. :) Thank you all for your love and support! I have the best friends and family! I love you all!

Monday, July 21, 2008

:(

It's been a really long day. Our car has been having some problems so after taking it to 3 different places, one who couldn't do anything, one that gave one possible answer and then the dealer giving me another, we are probably going to be spending a lot of money fixing our car. I have one more place to take it to tomorrow for a 3rd opinion and hopefully this one will be the best and cheapest solution. The test was negative, :( so I got an appointment for next month but we may have to put it on hold even further with fixing the car. I'm a little bummed, ok a lot bummed, but I guess it's Heavenly Father's way of saying it's His time, not mine. Thanks for the prayers and love! Hopefully a new job will fall in place and then we will be able to get this all worked out. :)

Tomorrow...

Two posts in one day? Crazy I know. I found out one of my best friends from High school is pregnant... again. This is her 3rd. I broke down in tears (sobbing is a better word) and my husband came to ask me what was wrong. I told him and got him to agree that if I get a negative on my test tomorrow, I can go back to the doctor! Hurray! Obviously I would much rather get a positive so we can save thousands of dollars but I'm so thrilled he has finally consented. I guess he's tired of seeing me break down after everyone else gets pregnant. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope this is in my near future. :)

Kristi's Shower

Kristi's shower was a success! It was a lot of fun! We only played one of the 5 games we prepared but everyone seemed to enjoy just sitting around and talking. Kristi's belly is getting big and the two boys weigh over 3 pounds each! :) She's hoping to make it until the beginning of September before the boys decide to make their entrance into the world! :) She is getting bigger every day but she is still adorable! I am excited to become an aunt once again and get to play with so many snuggly little nephews! :)

Present for Kristi

This is for my sister's baby room. I've been working hard (like a couple hours) and it's turning out really cute. I'm thinking about selling them if anyone is interested. I still have to put a ribbon on the top to hang it by and ribbons connecting all the frames. Let me know what you think! :)

Connor

I love my nephews so much! Even though my little Connor boy stole my birthday, I love him to death. But with a face like this, who wouldn't???!!!

Calling

So I got sustained today so I figured I would post what my new calling is... Jillian was right! I am Ward Camp Director. Our camp is in 6 weeks. A lot of it has already been done but it's a little crazy right now. I'm pretty nervous because I've probably only gone real camping 3 or 4 times my whole life. My girl's camp was a breeze. We stayed in cabins with bunkbeds and mattresses and we had bathrooms with running water. Luckily, there are very few girls going so it shouldn't be too bad. :) I am really excited, nervous, and pretty much every other emotion is running through my body! I know this is where I'm supposed to be and it has already blessed my life in so many ways!

Baby News!

We found out John's wife Holly is having... drumroll please... a BOY! Hurray! Now Robby and I will have 7 nephews! Alyssa had Connor and baby Jake is coming in August, Holly has Noah, Ethan, and Baby Boy #3, and Kristi is having Baby Boy A & Baby Boy B. Here's hoping that I can be the first one to break the boy spell! Wishes, prayers, and hoping will be much appreciated!

Scrapbooking

I got excited to scrapbook again but it wasn't for me. I'm getting ready for my sister. She said to me that she wasn't too fond of scrapbooking so I'm going to put a book together for her. :) I've done a couple of pages so far.

This will be a cute one of them together with their names in the red and a picture in the blue

My sister has been calling the babies "Baby A" and "Baby B" so I wanted to play off that a little. In the empty blue part at the bottom will go the baby's name.

Same with the green one. :)

Baby scrapbooking is so much fun! Maybe all of this will rub off on me! :) Good luck to Holly tomorrow when she finds out what her baby is!

New Calling!!!!

So I'm not going to post what it is but I'm just wondering who can guess! I'm still teaching Sunbeams which I'm so grateful for! I love those kids and I know I couldn't part from them! :) Go ahead and guess and then on Sunday when I'm sustained I will let everyone know! :)

NEWS!!!

We found out today that Kristi is having...... a boy! Oh and I forgot to mention.... another boy! Yep, my sister is having twin boys in September. She's a little nervous but I know she'll be a great mom. So, now I'm thinking I should adopt twin puppies but they would have to be girls! :) So now I will have 2 nephews on Robby's side, and 4 on my side. We're still waiting to find out what my brother John's wife is expecting. I love spoiling little babies! :)

Puppies

With Mother's day looming upon us, I've decided to adopt a puppy! I'm still coaxing Robby into the idea (it's been months and he's starting to budge). If anyone knows any good breeds, or knows someone who is selling dogs (preferably not too expensive but I do want a young puppy) let me know! I love you all!

CONGRATS TO THE GRAD!

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to my brother in law who graduated from BYU in History. He's a riot to be around and he's great for my sis. I'm so excited they are moving back to AZ especially with their little baby "Peanut" who is due in September and is going to steal my birthday month but at least I can play with him/her. :)

Jimmy's Farewell

Can you believe my baby brother is old enough to go on a mission??? How crazy is that?

Trying to zip his suitcase up. :)

All ready to go!

I have the silliest brothers

Papa & Bubba!

I'm not his "Big" sis but I'm still older!

If you thought your family was weird...

The weirdness continues...

I swear I'm adopted!

Jimmy & Mom. She cries later.

The missionary and the parents!

Tastey!

They are normal.
