Halloween part two

Here's the kids in their costumes. :) we didn't go trick or treating because Robby had to work late, I was tired from being woken up 2 hours early by my darling children, and being vegan means our choices of candy are severely limited. I didn't want to collect candy none of us could eat only to let Grace knock on a couple doors. So we are sitting at home watching movies. Nightmare before Christmas, Mulan, and a movie about ballerinas (that Grace is really into). She wanted to dress up so I got a couple pictures. :)

Happy Halloween!!!

Have a happy Halloween!!!!!! We are excited to go trick or treating tonight. Even though we can't eat 90% of the candy, I'm sure Grace will have fun knocking on doors and yelling "tick teet" (trick or treat). :)

Dancing Gracie is the best Gracie

Grace LOVES to dance. She will spin and twirl and arabesque around the house. She is in love with Angelina ballerina. We read the books together but she adores the show. So I bought her a leotard, tights, ballet shoes, and made her a tutu. She pranced around in them tonight while we listened to classical music. I love taking her to gymnastics but cannot wait to sign her up for a dance class! I found one nearby that I hope I can get her into.

Here's a couple pictures of my little dancer. She had ripped off the tutu by then, but she was still hamming it up.

The middle picture is from earlier today when she stole my heels. She has started bowing while saying "thank you" to her adoring fans (aka mom, dad, and Jojo).

Trunk or treat

We had our ward trunk or treat tonight and we all dressed up. I was Wonder Woman, Grace was Batgirl, Joey was The Flash, and Robby was Clark Kent/Superman. Together we were the Justice League. Grace only wore the mask for 5 seconds and the cape for 2 seconds. But even with our homemade costumes, I think we look pretty awesome. :)

Hair cut!

Grace has been looking a bit scraggly in the back. I finally broke down and trimmed the back of her hair a bit. She seems to naturally grow a mullet so I leave the front alone in the hopes that it will even out before she is 10. I'm no expert hair trimmer, but I know Gr e wouldn't sit still for anything but a movie so I just quickly trimmed it at home. Here's some before and after pictures. :)

A new word!

Joey has been babbling Mama and Dada for a while, but hasn't really assigned them to one person yet.  But today, I walked in from being gone for a few hours, and Joey looks up at me and says "Hi!" clear as day.  Robby heard it too and we both just sat stunned.  Then Joey says "Hi!" again and smiles.  So I think this goes down as his first TRUE word.  He wasn't trying to repeat what we said, and he wasn't babbling.  It was definitely very sweet to be greeted so nicely.  :)

Swimming!

For reals this time! My friend has a pool so we decided it would be fun for all of us stay at home moms to bring our kids swimming. It was supposed to be a "hot" day (it was only 86 degrees, lol). I don't know what we were thinking with 4 moms and 6 kids, but we all survived. Here's a picture of the kids on our way there. :)

JOJO! WAKE!

Grace woke up at 5:30 this morning. And despite my pleas to get her to go back to sleep, she refused. In the mean time, she managed to wake her brother up too (who is not a morning person). After an hour, I finally gave in and brought them milk/formula so I could get ready for the day, and they would be contained. They both drank it and the next thing I hear is Grace screaming JOJO,WAKE! I go in there and discover him completely passed out again. Lol. So I had to take a picture. How he sleeps through his crazy sister is beyond me, but I love that he can. :)

10 months!!!

My baby Joey is 10 months old! This year has seriously gone by way too fast!!! It's officially impossible to get a picture of him without moving. But here are a couple favorites with his bear Max. Grace wanted to join the fun too so she jumped in and took some pictures. :)

Personal trainer

I signed up for a 5k in November so I started training for it. Normally I run in the fitness room before the kids wake up so I don't have to bring them. But this morning I was just too tired so I decided to take them with me. I strapped all 54 lbs of baby in the 35 lbs jogging stroller and was on my way. I started walking and Grace says "No! Go running!" She loves when we go fast in the stroller so I had to run. Any time I slowed down, she told me to go faster. Who needs a personal trainer when I have this cutie? :)

A Good Day

I've been feeling a little down lately, which caused me to have a breakdown (or 2), deactivate Facebook, and watch way too much tv. So today, even after only 5 hours of sleep, I decided it would be a good day. That lasted through Grace's gymnastics class and promptly ended when I was flipped off by a lady who cut ME off. Well, a quick trip to chipotle and a coke, followed by amazing naps by 2 kids, and I was back.

So after naps, I decided to brave taking two children to the mall. *Cue scary music* Really it's because Grace has been begging to go to Disneyland so I did the next best thing. The Disney store. :)

We got to the mall and walk in and there is Loft! Woohoo! I had birthday money to spend and have been dying to get a new cardigan (it's chilly here year round so it's a need). We walk in and Grace yells "NOOOOOOO!" Lol. So I did what any good mom does, and bribed her. Errr. I mean offered and inspired incentive. If she was good she would get a "surprise". She then sat and said everything was "pretty" and wanted me to only buy things that are pink (her favorite color for now).

A cardigan, a sweater, and a long sleeve shirt later, we were off to get Grace's surprise. We walked by build a bear and I happened to have a $10 gift certificate there, so Grace got to make a new doggy. She was so cute picking out the animal, stepping on the pedal to stuff the doggy, kissing the little fabric heart and shoving it in. We asked her what the dogs name was. "Dace." Which is how she says Grace. Real original, I know. :) we made it out of there and only spent $3. Then we walked to the Disney store and watched the Disney movie clips, looked at princess dresses I can't wait to buy her, and window shopped. It was a really good time.

We got home and had dinner and put the kids to bed (who both fell asleep within minutes with no fuss) and had a nice night with Robby. I went to check on my babies and found my sweet princess curled up with her new doggy. :)

Even though being a mom came be entirely overwhelming sometimes, I am so glad I get to be a mom to these two sweet babies.

Happy Hollow Zoo

About 15 minutes from us is a little Park and Zoo.  It has a few rides, a lot of animals, and a petting zoo.  Grace had a blast and Joey tolerated sitting in the stroller the whole time.  :)

Grace wanted to ride the Jaguar.  She LOVED it!

Joey munching away while sister rides

Wheeeee!!!!

Blowing kisses to mommy!

Hi mommy!

There was a little crawl space to look at the lemurs

Cheese!

How big is her wingspan?

Joey still happy. :)

The roller coaster.  Grace had a straight face the whole time but once she got off, she was laughing hysterically.

The only family picture we got.  Lol.

There was a huge playground.  Grace climbed up the netting.

The slide was seriously so long.  She thought it was awesome.

I giggled at her hair afterwards.  :)

A fun car ride.  It just went around in a circle but she got to ring a bell over and over.

She wasn't crazy about this one.  She got buckled in backwards and wasn't crazy about it.  But everything else she loved.

We had a super great time and can't wait to go back again!  Hopefully we can get an annual pass and go as often as possible.  :)

A Shimming?

Grace found her swimsuit today and kept asking to go "A Shimming?  Go Pool?"  Well, since it's in the low 70s right now, there was no way I was going to drag the 3 of us outside to go swimming.  So I told her we could swim in the bathtub.  She was thrilled and so was Joey.  I threw in some bubbles, gave them some kitchen utensils and cups, then put 2 babies in.  Here's their fun.  :)

After we got out, Grace asked if we could go swimming.  Lol.  She also asked to go to Disneyland to see Mickey.  Me too kid.  :)
